Bioeléctrica de Monterrey, S. A. de C. V. IS A Joint Venture between the Government of Nuevo Leon State, and Grupo GENTOR, it is a 100% Mexican Company. 

The Biogas plant is located outside Monterrey city. The plant transforms the biogas from the city landfill into electric energy. Plant project has been implemented in 3 stages, up to date nominal capacity is 17 MW.

4.- Agua y Drenaje de Monterrey, I.P.D.
5.- Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metrorrey, O.P.D.
6.- Oficinas generales del Gobierno del Estado de Nuevo León.
7.- Sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia del Estado de Nuevo León (DIF).


Waste to Energy plant is interconnected to the public grid, as a backup when maintenance works shut down the plant, and to deliver energy to the electric power beneficiaries. 


Environmental benefits, green house gases emissions reduction.

With this plant, transforming methane gas from the landfill biogas into electric energy, we are contributing to a more rational use of hydrocarbon limited reserves.

Estimated electric energy generation with the full plant capacity is around 141,000 MWhr /year.
